JBHS Christmas Party Restrictions

Parents, We are asking that parents do not attend the Christmas Parties today. We have been struggling with that decision as we know everyone is tired of the COVID .... however,... we have had a major outbreak at school with a bad VIRUS and with STREP. We had to cancel our games yesterday, due to the fact that we did not have enough to play due to the virus or strep. So, it's not that we do not want parents at school, you are the backbone of our school and we appreciate your support and all that you do for us. We are asking that you help with this situation. I understand some of the other schools in the Parish are doing things different. We are a small school and have had almost half of our student population absent last week and this week because of the virus. Hopefully, we will get back to normal in the Spring. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me, Mrs. Murphy, at 569-2138, Ext.1304

STAR STUDENTS OF THE MONTH

STAR STUDENTS OF THE MONTH Image
It has been rightly said that “Motivation is what gets you started; Habit is what keeps you going.” Students, when they are motivated, are more excited to learn and participate. One way to motivate students is to give them rewards and recognition for their learning and participation. With this belief, we recognize one STAR student each month in elementary, middle school, and high school. We select a student as a STAR student on the following parameters.
1. Discipline
2. Participation (school & co-curricular activities)
3. Empathy (being helpful)
4. Leadership (responsible, Initiative & motivator)
5. Social Skills (friendly nature & mannerisms)
